    Title:
    HVX failure recovery
    Summary:
    HVX failure recovery
    Content:

When a physical HVX server fails, do the VMs running on it automatically restart on a different HVX server or must they be restarted manually?

If the VMs auto restart, how long are the VMs usually down while a failover is in progress?

    Thanks!

    Doug.

      Hi Doug ,

I don't think if HVX fails , VMs will restart as the HVX (Ravello ) use the Cloud VM natively .

      Hi Doug,

There is no automatic VM restart today, you will need to restart the VM manually.

But you can design your application to have the VMs assigned to different availability groups, so that they are spread across different available domains.
