    Title:
    debug and develop add-in without exting the application again and again
    Content:

     Hi,

    I m working on developing an add-in. As mentioned in the documnets to resgister the add-in we need add it through the add-in manager and then exit from the application and then re login into it.

    But this practise is very tedious if we have made a small change in the add-in and want to chk it. login to the application and hen reloading it is very time consuming.

    Is there any other way to work with add-in that can save some time. Please help.

    Regards

    Shubha

    To everybody looking for this issue:

    I use this order

    launch=https://yourenvironment.com/cgi-bin/yourfile.cfg
    dbname=yourenvironment auto=true
    uname=userid
    pword=password

    And eliminate the extra blank spaces at the end of each line.

    Hope this help

      Hi Shubha,

      Try using "Developer Mode" to improve your add-in development productivity.  Chris Omland put together a nice presentation on how to use this feature.

      Thanks,

      Kevin

      Anyone know where this can be found now?

      I would love to improve my development productivity.

      Richard,

      Sorry about the URL shift. I'll try to track the where the blog content was moved to.

      In the meantime, you can find information about the development mode support in the add-in framework in the developer documentation, under the "Operational Behavior" section.

      Here's a direct link:
      http://documentation.custhelp.com/euf/assets/devdocs/february2013/Connect_AddIn_Framework/Content/Desktop%20Add-In%20Framework%20API/Operational%20Behavior/Operational%20Overview.htm

      And a link to the documentation site:
      http://documentation.custhelp.com/euf/assets/devdocs/february2013/Connect_AddIn_Framework/Default.htm

      Hope that helps!

      Thanks!

      Alfredo,

      Have you tried debugging method given in the Add-In doc.

      Note: Don't copy&paste command line argument given in the doc, type it

      Where is the corrrect RighNow.cs.exe in windows 8.1??

      And where can i find this parameters??

      • launch=<URL_to_interface_cfg_directory>

      Hi,

        anybody out there??

       There is any other place where i can go to get support on this issues?

    • Anurag Mittal

      From your log files it looks like

      RightNow.CX.exe path for window 8.1 is :

      C:\Users\torresal\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0\NumberLetterCombo\NumberLetterCombo\righ....exeNumberLetterCombo\RightNow.CX.exe

      launch = https://promero--dev.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/promero.cfg

      dbname = promero--dev

      You can also check your DBname and site name from Settings.xml located at C\Users\torresal\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0\Data\PQWZ9OQT.2V3\HCHB6TTO.C7Z\righ.._dev_48ad3057c253cb4a_000f.0005_692f48ae09b9a70a\Data folder

      Hope this will work..

      ~Anurag.

      Hi Alfredo,

      Since this is a public forum, I would recommend you to remove/mask the username and password from your reply. You should also immediately change the password for your mentioned account as well.

    • Anurag Mittal

      Your launch parameter should be https://promero-dev.rightnowdemo.com/cgi-bin/promero_dev.cfg

      auto=true
      uname=Admin1
      pword=xxxxxxxx
      launch=https://promero-dev.rightnowdemo.com/cgi-bin/promero_dev.cfg
      dbname=promero_dev
