    Title:
    Receiving error when submitting award
    Summary:
    Receiving error when submitting award
    Content:

During our testing of the 19B quarterly patch, we started receiving an error when submitting an award.  The error message says, "The Contract associated to the award was not updated because of an error.  Review the associated error details.

    • You must provide a value for the attribute Associated Project.Project Name. ()

Has anyone else seen this error?

    Thanks,

This is a known issue. Its fixed in May 3rd bundle. You would have to request the weekly bundle if the fix is needed immediately, or it will be in the monthly bundle. The workaround is to log out, log back and retry action. You may have to try this a couple times, if it does not work.

Prithi - We have quarterly bundles here at Kansas.  Will the fix be in the next quarterly bundle?  In the email I received from you, you said that this is caused by using a new project template.  We have not used a new project template.  Do you know what the root cause is?

      Thanks,

      Michelle

Prithi - One more question, we are having to have a cumulative weekly bundle loaded into our TEST environment on May 24th and then loaded in our PROD environment on May 31st.  Is it possible to add this fix to this bundle?

      Thanks,

      Michelle

      Hi Michelle,

If you have already made arrangement to get the 5/24 cumulative weekly bundle (CWB) then I have confirmed that the fix for this issue is available in that CWB.

Please review my initial response which I updated a little after, mentioning that the workaround is to retry the action, after a complete logout.

      Thanks,

      Prithi

Prithi - We received the CWB and we are still receiving this error.  What is the root cause of this error message?

        Thanks - Michelle

      Hi Michelle,

I have encountered pretty much the same error once and found an answer in Metalink as a workaround.

I received the following error message:

      ***

The contract associated to the award was not updated because of an error. Review the associated error details.
You must provide a value for the attribute Associated Project.Project Name. ()

      *********

Please see if this works for you. Metalink: Doc ID 2504211.1

Thanks Paul.  We had deployed this field earlier but we are still receiving the error.  This error message started happening again after we implemented 19B.  I appreciate your help.

We are in 19B now and luckily we are not getting this error anymore.

      Thanks
