    OBIEE is a reporting solution.

When Oracle built subject areas on underlying database tables indirectly (using ADF View Objects), the resulting product is called OTBI. All such subject areas have Real Time at the end of their name.

When Oracle takes data from database tables, store them in Essbase, and build subject areas on top of these Essbase cubes, the resulting product is called OBIA. All such subject areas DO NOT have Real Time at the end of their name.

In both cases, you are dealing with OBIEE. OTBI and OBIA are just products built on top of OBIEE.

Hence, OBIEE is the technology stack, and OBIA and OTBI are products.

Think of OBIA and OTBI as enhancements/extensions built on top of OBIEE. OBIEE is still there ALWAYS.

I am not the right person to comment on licensing of products. However, as described earlier, OBIEE is the base on which OTBI and OBIA are built, and hence if you are using any of the two products, you are already working in OBIEE.

I can understand that Oracle may sell you OTBI and OBIA products seperately, but if you are purchasing any of the two products, you are already buying OBIEE.

I would recommend you to open another question for Oracle folks to answer this question, as I am not the right person to answer licensing questions. But I still believe my understanding is correct.

What customization exactly you need? What's the path of the report?

    • Soumya Parhi

      Hi Shakher,

Oracle hasn't provided any datamodel for the same. You can run the report from :

      AuditReports | Product = Procurement

One needs to have Audit Policy Enabled for the supplier to view it in the above screen.

I need to make it customized for business to run it as adhoc.

I have attached the audit implementation steps in the first post for your reference.

      Thanks,

      Soumya

        Hi Soumya,

I believe you are looking to create custom BI Publisher reports.

Refer to following two tables that stores data about Audit Setup:

        FND_AUDIT_WEBAPP_AM
        FND_AUDIT_ATTRIBUTES

Second table will let you know on what table and column combination audit has been enabled.

For example, let's say audit was enabled for table HZ_ORGANIZATION_PROFILES. Oracle will create an audit table with an underscore at the end of it's name i.e. the audit table name will be HZ_ORGANIZATION_PROFILES_ . This table will have data and audit information such as AUDIT_ACTION_TYPE_ that will tell you about type of event such as Insert, Update , delete etc.

      Hi Shakher,

My question is around logic :  Logic of Supplier Audit Report and how to capture New and Old Value ?

There are multiple values with :

      - AUDIT_ACTION_TYPE_ - Actione Type - have values like INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE.
      - AUDIT_CHANGE_BIT_MAP_ - Used to store a bit map of 1's and 0s for each row. 1 will be stored if the value has changed and 0 will be stored if the value hasn't.

Though the object version numbers are different but which object version number one should consider ?

Is it the latest and previous or the first one ?

      Thanks,

      Soumya

Here is the answer to your query:

        https://apicatalog.oraclecloud.com/ui/views/apicollection/oracle-public/common-features-procurement-cloud/18a/auditReport

Use this API to search and get the data, and later customize it as per your need.

      Hi Shakher,

      Couple of questions :

      1. As I was going through the documentation does release 13 has BI Publisher 12c ? Else its not supported.

      2. Do you have any documentation to call REST API using BIP ?

      Thanks,

      Soumya

      • Shakher Sharma

        R13 has 11g.

Try using OBIEE Answer's Action to invoke the web-serivce. Here is a sample tutorial:

      • Shakher Sharma

Were you able to call this REST API using OBIEE Answer's Action?

    • Soumya Parhi

      Hi Shakher,

We dont have license for OBIEE and hence not able to proceed with it.

      Thanks,

      Soumya

News for me! I hope you are using Cloud Applications.

        Which product you are using?

Are you able to open https://<host_name>/analytics

    • Soumya Parhi

Yes Shakher, I can open https://<host_name>/analytics

    • Soumya Parhi

Are you referring to OTBI ?

    • Shakher Sharma

Kind of yes! OTBI is a product built on top of OBIEE. You have two products available built on top of OBIEE (BI Answers specially), OTBI (real-time transactions), and OBIA (summarized transactional data mostly, data warehouse based, not real-time).

    • Soumya Parhi

Thanks for the details and help. Do you mean we dont need a license of OBIEE & OBIA is we can access OTBI ?
