When i enter an approved cost budget for a sponsored project I am only able to enter the budget at the resource class level. We budget at the lowest level of resources. Is this a missing setup or limitation when it comes to an award budget. Any suggestions/workarounds.
Sirisha,
I too experienced the same thing which I did not experience for a non sponsored project. Not sure what it is. Has anyone else experienced this issue and how can we overcome this?
Thanks

Hi Srisha,
Below are some checks that you could do -
1. Please verify that the Project has the correct Resource Breakdown Structure (RBS) assigned. This RBS would contain all the resources you expect to see on the Budget. This RBS should also be set as Primary Planning and Reporting RBS.
2. If the above is correct, then please verify if the resources were added to the RBS after it was associated to the Project. In this case, you would manually need to add the resource on the budget version.
Regards,
Deepti
Deepti,
I have verified everything you specified.
I have added my resources to the RBS before I attached it to the template and set it as Primary for Planning & Reporting.
However, only the seeded Resource Classes show up while trying to 'Manage Assignments for selected tasks'.
Therefore, I have to 'add the resource' in the 'Manage Assignments for selected tasks' page.
I don't remember encountering this issue for Non Sponsored projects.
Thanks

Thanks Deepti. I doublechecked and found that i didnt have the right primary RBS on the project. Its working for me now.
Sirisha,
Are you able to see the resources (like Expenditure Category/Expenditure Type) besides the seeded Resource Classes in the 'Manage Assignments for selected tasks' page?
I could not and have to manually 'add the resource' in the 'Manage Assignments for selected tasks' page.
Or you also have to manually add them?
Thanks

Hi Paul My list had named persons and resource classes and I am able to see both. I haven't tried expenditure types yet. Thanks,
Hi Sirisha,
Mine is also working now after I created a new RBS with 'Allow resource changes at project level' unchecked.
