    SCP Archiving White Paper
    Summary:
The archiving process provides tools to analyze the accuracy of the forecast.
    Content:

    Dear All,

The archiving process provides tools to analyze the accuracy of the forecast. That can be done on a different time basis. The process should improve decision making, support regular strategic performance review by identifying future performance gaps and enable senior executives to manage performance expectations.

Please find the attached White paper on Archiving.

    Best!!

      Hi Jacobs,

      Hope you are doing well!!

I have gone through the attached white paper on SCP Archiving

Question: Why the 'Final Shipments Forecast 1 month ago is having the same values as in Final Shipments Forecast'?

In English Language '1 Month ago' means something in last month. But here as per the example it works differently.

Can you please explain me why the functionality is designed like this? Any advantages of this Design?

Attaching the screenshot to what i am referring to for your reference.

      Thanks,

      Ramesh

      Hello Ramesh!!

Thank you for your question, as described in chapter Advantage of the approach ". This approach avoids maintaining multiple intermediate measures for rolling archive", i.e. the future dates of Final Shipments Forecast 1 Month Ago holds the value, in this example 210 that we will need next month, this way we do not need a separate measure to save the previous forecast when re-running Demand plan.

        Hi Jacobs,

        Thanks for the reply.

I would need one clarification to check if my understanding is correct

For Example, For Month of April 2019,

The 'Final Shipments Forecast 1 month Ago' Measure will always have same values as in 'Final Shipments Forecast' for plan horizon.

'Final Shipments Forecast 2 month Ago' Measure values in April for plan horizon will have the values which we had in Last Month i.e., Values of March

'Final Shipment Forecast 3 month Ago' Measure Values in April for plan horizon will have the values which we had in Last to Last Month i.e.,Value of February

        Can you please clarify.

        Thanks,

        Ramesh
