    Title:
Can we restrict items visibility in Requisitions
    Summary:
Can we restrict certain items to be visible to only certain users not to all users in requisitions
    Content:

    For Example:

As a requester1, I should be able to see the itemA when I search for Items in requisitions

and As a requester2, I should not see those.

    Can we do it?

    Version:
    Oracle Fusion R13

This is standard functionality. Navigate to Manage Catalogs > Create Local Catalog.

Within, you will find options to include/exlude specific categories or include all catagories. You can then associate the catalog to a content zone that can be restricted to user or specific users, as opposed to a requisitioning BU.

You should find documentation available at docs.oracle.com within the Procurement application to get additional information. Although, you probably are already aware of this feature.

Catalogs are created at the item category level, not items.

So, what you are asking for is not currently designed. Can I ask if the items you are referring to belong to the same categories? What is the business rationale for this level of granularity in content access?

        Hi Ashok,

If we can do this based on categories is also, we want to do that. Can you please let me know how we can configure this based on Categories.

Our client has a necessity of ordering certain things only by certain users and they should be visible to only to those people and all the other requesters should not see those items or Categories. Can we do this?

        Thanks,

        Sabarish

Hi Ashok, Thanks for the information. Although I have tried that approach already, it did not work as expected. So I will check it again today and let you know the update.

        Ashok,

Thanks for the information. Looks like we need to do this based on items not based on category.

Hi Ashok, I am not aware you can use Content Zones/Calaogs to restrict the categories available (on a non-catalog request for example)?Only items that are assigned to those categories?  Can you confirm?

        Thanks

      Marcus,

So the idea of Catalog security is to control access of content for a requester, right? So when you define catalogs where you tell the system what items the user should be able to shop for, you can use categories, agreements or a combination thereto to determine exact content access. And Content Zones afford the flexibility to configure access based on Requisitioning BUs or even providing access only to specific users.

Let me know if this answers your query.
