    Workspace rules and banner flags
    Want to base workspace rule on condition using banner flag

    To make sure people really notice when a contact record has a red banner flag, we want to do a message box pop up. You seem to be able to base these on nearly everything except the banner flag field itself

    so the event trigger is record loads, this is the condition we're trying to do

    any suggestions for a work around?

      A workaround is through a javascript api within a browser component on the workspace :-)

      Flag is not available in javascript API. A workaround that does work is to create a custom field (menu type) where you create each color as a menu item and map them through business rules. Your business rule will set the right menu value based on the flag and the custom field will be available to you in your workspace rules.

      Depending on your BR setup I would have the BR in the "In progress" state as this would trigger on new & update. New is not required if you choose a default value for your custom field but if having No value as default you would want a BR to set the custom field value to White as the White flag is default when creating an incident.

      Theoretically you may only need a true false field if you only want to perform an action on red flag but having the CF as menu type you will be able to assign other actions to other flags in the future without having to redo you custom field (menu allows for more freedom in the future).
