    Title:
    'FilterDropdown2' Widget Usage
    Content:

    Hi,

I'm trying to use a custom field as a search filter.

I have used the 'FilterDropDown2' widget to add the field to the search box on our home page and on the results page (list.php) also.

When I do a search on the home page, it doesn't make a difference what I select in the 'FilterDropDown2' menu, it always returns all search results.

However, when I then do a search on the results page, the 'FilterDropDown2' menu does work and my results are filtered by the selected value.

I'm guessing that this has something to do with a JavaScript Event and/or Listener, but I just can't figure it out.

Can anyone provide a clue or some advice on how to solve the issue?

    Thanks,
    Greg

      I had a similar problem.

I had found out that my problem was a result of multiple reports on pages.  I had actually put one report on my template, and my home/list page contained another.  Those reports all shared the same filters, such as 'kw', as they were all a variation of the Answer report (ID: 166).

I ended up with the help of a RightNow post customizing a report widget to ignore the url parameters.  Which I suspect is your issue.

So if you have a similar setup(2 or more reports on a page) check out the post I have linked below and see if it helps get you to an answer.
