    Invoice Imaging
    Content:

    Hi all,

We have two issues for invoice imaging:

    1) It does not support Chinese characters …. but most of the invoices are in Chinese characters.

    2) One pdf file contains 5 invoices from one supplier … but system must have a separator (blank page) in between to distinguish this is another invoice. How can we  add a blank page in the pdf software? it subject a lots of works then.

Does anyone encounter the same issue?

    Please share.

      Hi Amy!

Unfortunately, scanning is quite limited and will not adapt to business processes. It is the other way around. If you want to use scanning, you have no choice but to adapt to all of the recommended practices from Oracle and work with your suppliers to provide the correct invoices.

For the first question, the Integrated Invoice Imaging guide contains this information:
"What languages are recognized and supported?
The imaging solution supports and processes documents that have Western character set, the Cyrillic character set, and Greek. Other character sets are not supported by the imaging solution and cannot be read from the invoice image."

For the second question, there is not much you can do within Oracle to fix this. You have two options:
1- Request the license for Adobe PDF PRO. This lets you customize your PDFs and has the functionality to include blank pages.
2- Request that your supplier stops consolidating invoices into a single PDF. Since you are the customer, you can request that your supplier stops sending you all the invoices in one document. If they cannot, then it's either the first option above or manually enter your invoices into AP.

Attached is the white paper from Oracle for scanning. It contains all the FAQs and any other key information for scanning to work as designed.

Let me know if you require any additional information.

      Regards,
      Felix

      Thanks all.

We have Oracle team here to implement and have asked the PM to check the roadmap but not have any feedback at the moment.

Came across the new 2018 Oracle Integrated Invoice Imaging Guide. Forget the one I initially provided, please review this one instead.
