    Title:
Can I use Message Bases or Variables in Workspace labels?
    Content:

    Hi all,

Is there anyway to use a configurable field in a workspace? Specifically, I have many workspaces that contains Product and Category input fields. However, we use different labels for Products and Categories which may change in the future. I would like to use PRODUCT_NAME_LBL and CATEGORY_LBL message bases to label the input fields so that when they do change, I only need to update them in one place.

If this is not possible, then I was wondering if there was a way to use Variables instead?

I tried using msg_lookup(4574) which is how message bases are used in reports and adding a variable using $variablename, but no luck.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Niamh (which I know how to pronounce correctly!)

This is certainly doable, you just need to use a different item in the message base.

Check out this article, which discusses how to change the default value of that label in workspaces. Note that this just changes how it default-appears in the workspace... this does NOT change the label everywhere. That article refers to other documentation that discusses this more in depth. (I'd say definitely try this in a test environment first, since you're changing the appearance of something that is pretty fundamental and which appears in many places.
