    Title:
Print Receivables Transaction in XML format
    Summary:
Unable to generate a Receivable invoice in XML format thru "Print Receivables Transactions" ESS Job.
    Content:

    Hi,

I need to generate a Receivable invoice in XML format. I created the XSL (Transformation) template and uploaded into BI Catalog. There, I defined the Output Format and Default Format as XML. Then, in ERP Cloud, I entered into the Receivable menu, Billing application and created a Receivable Transaction. I submitted the "Print Receivables Transactions" ESS Job selecting the Transaction number and also leaving the Output File Type parameter as Blank, so the system takes the default and generate the output. However, the "Print Receivables Transactions: Invoice" child job finished in Error. This is because the default output file type is PDF (I suppose this is coming from ESS Job definition, and not from BIP). Then, I re-submitted the job and this time I selected HTML in the Output File Type parameter. The child job finished successfully. However, although the resulting file has an XML format, it has the extension ".html". And it finished successfully because html and xml file types are similar (pdf extension is definitely not compatible). If I download the output file and rename the extension from html to xml, I finally get the desired file, but executing this final step is not acceptable for my use case.

The problem here is that the "Print Receivables Transactions" ESS Job does not include the value XML in the Output File Type parameter. Is there any possibility to "customize" that LOV (Lookup Codes) MatchLookupTypeVC in order to include the XML value and let the parent job pass this value to the BIP child job? See screenshots for more detail.

    Thanks,

    Diego.

      Hi Diego,

You can run "Print Receivable Transactions" process with any output file format. After you run the process, you will get the report as well as the XML file on the process output screen. See the attached file.

Hi Jim, thanks for your response. However, you're talking about the XML source file. I know users are able to download that file. But I'm talking about the resulting XML file. That's the output file generated by BIP using a transformation template (XSL). Diego

      Hi Diego,

Just wondering whether you found a way for this in the end? We are facing the same issue. Client wants to send out an e-mail with the XML invoice file as attachment? Just changing the output format from the BIP template into XML results in the invoice print program erroring out.

      Any help is much appreciated!

        Hi Mathieu,

Yes, we finally created a new BIP template (XSLT) which transform XML source file generated by BIP into an XML output file. Then, we changed the parameters from Print Receivables Transactions in order to let BIP to use the new template.

        Regards,

        Diego

      Hi Diego,

Thanks for your reply. How did you change the parameters of the print program? As far as we can see we cannot change the parameters to set it to an XML print (instead of pdf etc... as in the screenshot above). Or are you using an on-premise version of Fusion? Would you be able to help us a bit further? Any help is much appreciated.

      Best regards Mathieu

        Hi Mathieu,

We have just changed the Output Templates in the parameters list in the Print Receivables Transactions ESS Job, where you set the Invoice, Credit Memo, Debit Memo. The system shows standard templates there, but you can change them to specify the specific ones you have created in BIPublisher, and which includes the output to XML, instead of PDF. See this note where you can change the default for a specific BU: Print Receivables Transactions - Default BU Specific Templates (Doc ID 2179631.1). We're using Cloud.

Within BIPublisher, the template has to be XSL (that means an XSLT transformation) and the default output format has to be XML.

        Regards,

        Diego.

Is it for a European customer? (E-Invoice (UBL 2.1 format being the standard now for 32 countries there for B2G)

the proposed approch is then AR-XML invoicing (Collaboration Messaging Framework (CMK) from 18C
