    Title:
Can OIC poll for file creating in FTP directory?
    Summary:
Trying to poll a directory in an FTP for new files
    Content:

    Hello All!

I need to trigger an integration for when a new file is uploaded into an FTP directory. Is this possible?

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Yes, you can trigger it on demand by exposing the integration via SOAP/REST interface or use schedule based integration to trigger it for periodic poll.

        Thanks for the response.

Can you please elaborate a bit more on the "demand" method. How does the FTP directory send a REST/SOAP request to the integration for it to run?

I'm definitely missing a step between the FTP and the REST trigger.

You will have to write external logic to trigger the integration when file is deposited to FTP server. Perhaps the same client application that writes file to FTP server can send this trigger if you are trying to achieve near real time integration.

Thank you for the response. That sounds good for when the client deposits files into the FTP server via application. But I just found out the client also has to option to be doing this manually.

In the case of manual(human user) file depositing, would a scheduled orchestration be the best solution?
