    Hi,

    As per the Oracle Maintenance Cloud user guide, the customer assets cannot be created into Oracle Maintenance Cloud.

    Please find the details below from the Maintenance User guide:

    Feature Customer Assets Maintenance Assets

    Creation

    Cannot be created in Maintenance Cloud application.

    Can be created in Maintenance Cloud application.

    Update

    Can be managed and edited in Maintenance Cloud application.

    Can be managed and edited in Maintenance Cloud application.

    Tracking Method

    Can be tracked using the following methods:

    • Full Lifecycle Tracking

    • Customer Asset Tracking

    Can be tracked using Full Lifecycle Tracking method.

    Item

    Must have an item associated with the customer assets.

    Must have an item associated with the maintenance assets.

    Asset Number

    Must have an asset number.

    Must have an asset number.

    Customer

    Must have a customer.

    Not Applicable

    Shipment Date

    Must have a shipment date.

    Not Applicable

    Operating Organization

    Not Applicable

    Must have an operating organization.

    Applicable Tabs

    Vertical tabs rendered for customer assets:

    • Overview

    • Parts List

    • Meters

    • Hierarchy

    Vertical tabs rendered for maintenance assets:

    • Overview

    • Meters

    • Last Sales Orders

    • Hierarchy

    • Contracts

     

    I have few queries as our client has customers for whom they are maintaining the assets and getting paid for the same:

    1. How can we create the customer asset in Oracle Maintenance Cloud as the user guide says it cannot be created?
    2. Is it possible to define the maintenance programs and forecast and schedule the preventive maintenance for customer assets?
    3. Is it possible to create work orders and bill the same to the customer?
    4. What is the purpose of Tracking method and shipment date while defining the Customer asset?

      It addresses "break-fix" scenarios for repairing customer assets, and we plan to enhance the solution to support preventive maintenance on customer assets as well.
