We are implementing Oracle Fusion right now. We are currently working in the Calculation Manager creating allocations. One thing we noticed is that we can have an Source account be a parent in a hierarchy but we can not have a parent be the Offset. Our question is, does any one know how to bring in a range of accounts for the Offset? For Example If accounts 1 and 2 roll Up to Parent *** and we specify the *** parent as our source account, we would like to specify *** as our account Offset also. This would basically "clear out" Accounts 1 and 2. We don't need to do it as a parent level if a range is possible in the Source Account also. Does any one have any ideas of how to do this with out creating an allocation for each account?
The offset has to be a child values.
The solution in your case is put the offset for your allocation to a temp account. User another allocation component and take the temp account as source and allocate it among the original source to nullify it as desired and offset the temp account.
Thanks,
Abhijit
HI Abhijit,
I can see how that would clear out one of the accounts. For the first allocation, I set my source as a parent, and set the offset to a temp account, it would aggregate the parent into 1 account, the temp account. When I would create the new allocation, how would I set up the temp account to distribute to the original accounts for clearing?
Thanks,
Kevin
In the new allocation the temp account should be your source and the 1st allocation source parent should be in range and the temp account should be your target. So by adding one more allocation component to your original allocation you are able to achieve the Offset Looping.
Thanks,
Abhijit
Can you please be specific on what it is when you refer to "allocation component"?
Thanks,
Trisha
Thank You Abhijit. This makes sense. I will attempt your direction.
