    Title:
    Image URL without Hexadecimal number
    Content:

There are more than 1000 images which are loaded onto the Oracle Content and Experience Cloud.
These are stored in a particular folder structure.
The URL for the images contain hexadecimal values in them.
Is there a way to access the images via the URL using a meaning name instead of the hexadecimal values in them.

    Present Form https://instance.oraclecloud.com/documents/link/LD60EAD4CBF523476DF3A84CCD71156CCAEDBBBD394E/fileview/DA23E33D90085CAB274480FB4DDFCD1A83F82A669375/_52157-xx.png

    Required Form https://instance.oraclecloud.com/documents/link/DrawingsFolder/fileview/AgileTypeFolder/_52157-xx.png

We need to use these 1000 images from an external application and it would not be scalable if we have to access the images everytime using the hexadecimal code in them.

    Thank You,

    Sombit

Going forward we will enable using vanity URL for images (and digital assets to that matter) managed in Assets, There is no plan to enable vanity URLs for files in Documents.

      Igor,

Please correct my understanding if wrong.

Are you saying that it is not possible to get URLs as per our requirement at present

      Thank You,

      Sombit

Correct. You can configure vanity URL using a CDN, but you have to have file ID on the URL to uniquely identify file in Documents.

In Assets, we give you option to define user-friendly name for an asset (we call it Slug). Today use of Slugs is supported with content items. We are working to add support for using Slugs with digital assets as well.

      Igor,

I am not sure how to give User friendly names to an asset. Can you please guide me on that.

      Thank You,

      Sombit
