    Title:
    Siebel Integration
    Content:

In theory the Siebel integration in the May 2014 release (Framework Version 3.2.2) lets your customers use the Customer Portal to create service requests in version 8.1.1.11 of your Siebel incident management system. Framework 3.2.3 of the August 2014 release adds support for Siebel version 8.1.1.7.

According to the documentation (which is screwy as it keeps referring to saving incidents to the knowledgebase???)  all you have to do is configure 4 parameters: SIEBEL_EAI_HOST, SIEBEL_EAI_LANGUAGE, SIEBEL_EAI_USERNAME, and SIEBEL_EAI_PASSWORD. However I have not been able to make this work. I do not see other than in the hooks where I can specify the Service.

Has anyone else used this OOTB Siebel RN integration and if so, did you have to specify a web service (presumably through the hooks?)

Just to be clear, your host config should just be just the domain or IP address (e.g. alice.site.com, 12.34.12.54).

You can use hooks and call a custom model function for the 'post_siebel_incident_error' hook.  That should provide you (in that hook) information about how the request to Siebel failed.

      Hi James,

I tried Siebel Integration as per May2014 documentation..and for Siebel EAI host I mentioned the IP . But it throwing me following error

"We're sorry, but there was a problem processing your submission. Please try again later. (RequestErrorNumber: 60, RequestErrorMessage: SSL certificate problem, verify that the CA cert is OK. Details: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed, HTTP_CODE: 0, Response: false,

Could you help me resolve this

Based on the error message, it looks like a valid certificate is not being provided by your Siebel instance.  Unfortunately, I'm not aware myself how to set that up, but that should be where you need to start looking.

      Hi James,

I changed the IP of Siebel Instance and I'm not getting that error. But while submitting ask a question page I receive a error

"There was an error with the request and the action could not be completed".

Can you help me ..to fix this issue..is this due connectivity to Siebel. How to check the error in detail?

You should receive more error information if you're testing this in development mode.  Hopefully that will give you something similar to the certificate error above for you to investigate.
