    What Requisitioning Business Units are available for a user to set preferences?

    Customer Query:

    What determines the choices of Requisitioning Business Units available to a user when they log in to the Self Service Procurement Application and want to set user preferences?

    I have seen a few posts recently where the customers seemed to expect either no business units or more than what was shown in the choice list under Requisitioning BU Preferences configuration


    1. Out of the box, a user who is an employee has default access to a Requisitioning BU based on his / her primary work assignment, provided the business unit has Requisitioning business function

    2. In addition, a customer can decide to grant additional business unit access to a user through the task 'Manage Data Access for Users'.

    Customers ought to explore granting access to additional business units only as needed by their business drivers. Typically an employee would require access to the business unit he/she belongs to. Any additional access depends on the job role envisaged for the person (either as a Preparer for users that belong to different requisitioning business units) or any specific requirement for the requester to don various hats in different business units to create and submit requisitions.
