    Title:
Managing Manufacturer and Manfacturer Part number in Fusion
    Summary:
Where to manage Manufacturer and Manfacturer Part number in Fusion
    Content:

We have a requirement to capture both Manufacturer name and Part number at the Item level.  As per Oracle documentation EGP_TRADING_PARTNER_ITEMS_INTF – This interface table corresponds to various trading partner item details. Trading partner items include Competitor item, Manufacturer item, Customer item and their details.

Below are the related columns for creating the Trading partner items to populate in EGP_TRADING_PARTNER_ITEMS_INTF.  For TP_TYPE, we can choose one of the above 3 values (Competitor/ Manufacturer/Customer) in the template.  For Trading partner Number, we can input Supplier number for Competitor and Customer Number for Customer.  But for Manufacturer, we don’t know what ID to put in as there’s no UI to load Manufacturers separately and also there's no column in the Item import template for Manufacturer name.

Let me know if there's a way to capture it.

There is a task within Product Information Management work area to create Manufacturers.

For mass loading of Manufacturers, you have to use the same process used for creating Parties.  Manufacturer is a specific type of Party usage.  For details on importing Parties, please refer to the following:

Oracle Sales Cloud File Import Mapping Reference and Supporting Instructions (Doc ID 1596128.1) - from this document you have to use the template from Exercise 1 - sample CSV file - Import Account
Whenever you create an account, a Party is created with the specific usage. You will then need to update the party with a secondary usage for the other application.
You can find the different usages in Navigator -> Setup and Maintenance -> Search for 'Manage Party Usages'
Try using the following KM on how to add additional usage to a party: WebService Sample Payload To Add Usage To Customer Contact (Doc ID 2088670.1)
http://docs.oracle.com/cloud/farel9/salescs_gs/OESWS/Trading_Community_Party_Information_PartyInformationService_svc_81.htm#oracle.apps.cdm.foundation.parties.partyService.PartyInformationService > A framework to assign party usages to trading community members. For example, John Doe is assigned a usage to indicate he is a sales account contact and ABC Corporation is assigned a usage to indicate that it is a supplier.
From your import template you have to map the objects with Attribute OrganizationProfile and PartyUsageCode.
In the template you must have Manufacturer value.

You can file a Service Request if additional details are needed.

Thanks for the update Shyam, it's very useful.  I reviewed the note to create accounts using the CSV and also the mapping attribute file.  As you mentioned, after creating the Manufacturer as Party, we have to assign secondary Usage based on the values setup in Manage Party Usages.  But when I tried to map the objects with attribute OrganizationProfile and PartyUsageCode, I don't see them as available attributes to map in the csv template.  Is it available only via Webservice to assign secondary Usage?  Let me know if I can map in the import template itself?  Below is the link I reviewed to find out the list of attributes available for mapping

I am not sure about this.  You might need to file a service request to get it clarified.

    • Gopinath Kartheesan

Thanks Shyam, I will log an SR and get further information.

    • Gopinath Kartheesan

Attached is the document that talks about mass uploading Manufacturers by creating a custom File import process.  This was provided by Support with reference to my SR.  This can be used for loading Manufacturers and also other Trading Partners.  Hope it helps

      Here is the URL

How to Import Trading Partners Into PIM (Doc ID 2239550.1)

    • Courtney Mark

Is there an export option for all manufacturers?

    • Gopinath Kartheesan

You should be able to do this from the UI where you can inquire for Trading partners with type as "Manufacturer" and export them or you can get it from OTBI report.

    • Courtney Mark

You are correct.  If you query up a few manufacturers, yes you can export to Excel.  I need to export ALL manufacturers, so I don't want to have to enter a bunch of queries to then export them in each query.

    • Gopinath Kartheesan

      Try this query

      select hz.party_name, hz.party_id, hza.party_usage_code from HZ_PARTY_USG_ASSIGNMENTS hza, hz_parties hz where hz.party_id = hza.party_id and hza.party_usage_code = 'MANUFACTURER'

    • Vasanth Mahendran

I could not find the Manage Trading Partners Task in UI. Can anybody help where to find it? I want to manage the manufacturer information in PDH

    • Shyam Lakshman

From the Manage Trading Partner Items task, click on the Action menu on the top right to view the Create/Edit Trading Partner actions.

    • Steven Cascio

The search field in the Manage Trading Partner Items UI searches for both trading partners and trading partner items.

    • Shailesh Pradhan

      Hi,

Is there any option I can see Trading Partner Item Number status in PIM items trading partners tab. In my case TP type is Manufacturer.

Same Trading partner item number is having status in Product Development. Is there any release in which this feature is expected to roll out for PIM.

      Thanks

      Shailesh

    • Shyam Lakshman

Currently this is not planned for a specific release.
