Question on Capacity planning of Autonomous OIC
How can we effectively provision the message packs in an autonomous OIC instance.

    Hello Everyone,

Is there a way to find out the usage trends of my autonomous OIC instance. Currently i have 1 message pack in Non production and 3 message packs in Production environment of autonomous OIC. Currently i am relying on the Monitoring Dashboard to get a rough idea about the number messages that the system processes and draw an idea from that data. But unfortunately the dashboard shows the data on a daily basis and a dashboard that shows an hourly usage for past 24 hours.

Is there any other place where i can get a consolidated report of the message count for  a period of time to plan the capacity of Autonomous instances. and also what will happen to the instance if the messages are more than the allotted message packs?

I think, if you login to your my services dashboard, you can see ICS instances there. Here you can configure graphs, click on it, it will take you to Billing matrices. Here we can get message consumption over a period of time.

From FAQ, @ -  my understanding is that, in case for a given hour total consumption of message pack exceeds then configured one, overage will be charged for that hour for number of message packs consumed. But you should raise SR to get confirmation.

        Thanks Kanchan,

This graph is helpful in finding if there is any overage . Thanks a lot.

However, the graph in the billing metrics shows only the billed packs, ie currently i have 2+3= 5 packs in my OIC environment and it shows only these data in the graph ie 5K*24 hours= 120K messages per day.

It currently not showing the actual messages that got used up from this 120K message pack. Is there any place to find the actual messages that was used over a period of time :)smiley

Yes you are right it just shows number of message packs and not exact number of messages, maybe because these are billing matrices.

You can raise SR and try to get this information from support team.
