    Title:
Price at Product Category level does not work the same as Price at All Items level
    Summary:
Price at Product Category level does not work the same as Price at All Items level
    Content:

    1. Defined an Item and associated to a catalog and a category
    2. The catalog has been assigned to Pricing Parameter "Product Catalogs" so that the prices can be defined at the Product Category level in the price list.
    3. Defined the Price for the item under Items tab with effective dates of Jun 1 to Jun 8 for $2.00 and Jun 9 to Jun 22 for $2.10.
    4. Also defined a price under Product Category tab for the item's UoM with start effective date of Jun 1 and no end effective date for $0.00

    The expectation is
    1. When an order is created between Jun 1 to Jun 8, the price is $2.00 - working as expected
    2. When an order is created between Jun 9 to Jun 22, the price is $2.10 - working as expected
    3. When an order is created beyond Jun 22, the price is $0.00 - based on Product Category as there is no effective price for date beyond Jun 22 under Items tab.
This is not working as expected. There is no price being pulled.

    Then
    1. In addition to above setup in the price list, also defined a price under All Items tab for the item's UoM with start effective date of Jun 1 and no end effective date for $0.00

    And
When an order is created beyond Jun 22, the price is $0.00 - based on All Items as there is no effective price for date beyond Jun 22 under Items tab.
    This is working as expected.

However defining the price at All Items level is not advisable and not applicable for our business case.

Our business case is that the price for the item, for certain item types, is not knows at the time of order entry. The items are identified by assigning to specific catalog/category combination.

So when the price is known, it is entered under Items tab with effective date. However when not known, $0 should be pulled based on Product Category; so that order can be submitted and then re-priced when the item level price is available under Items tab.

Should the logic not to look at Product Category, if Item level price is not available? It seems, the pricing jumps directly to All Items.

      Hi,

As of now, pricing at item category level is not yet supported. There is an ER for the same. i'm not sure if that has been implemented as yet. Alternatively, you can use OM Extensions to populate item category in one of SO Line EFF and using Pricing Matrix can you update the Selling price in the Sales Order,
