Is there any possibility for users created in one interface are restricted fro other interface? While user creation i donot find any option as such. Can p!someone help!
Interface restriction is decided on 'Profile' level. So, you need to create separate profiles for every interface to restrict user's access of interfaces.
We tried to restrict the interface access in profiles, but this did not solve our issue. Our main concern is not to view the users in Assigned field of SR in reports as well as workspaces.
We followed the same thing. Created different profiles for different interface. But we need to restric the user details like assigned field in Workspace and Report. Is there any possibility to do that?
Hi Keerthi, Every interface has separate workspaces. You can create groups for users of every interfaces, then in the workspacw rule, write rule based on logged in profile- e.g. if logged in profile is 'A' then Exclude Group 'B' from the Assigned list.
I understand. However, the term user in Oracle Service Cloud can be used interchangeably, for both Contacts (Portal customers) and Accounts (Console Agents). Some businesses may chose to call their agents as Users and some call their customers as (portal) users. Your question wasn't clear about the type of users, hence my alternate answer.
Yes, this approach is good for Workspaces we did it for Incident but, what about reports? Clients require the assigned field as filter in the reports and everytime when a new user is added we cannot update all the reports as we have many reports with that filter. Also this group based filtering works for Incident but not for Task. To restrict values in assigned field of task, we have to manuaklly select each and every user . In our project task plays a very important role.
I am not sure if it is possible to make such change that it is implemented for all the reports. You need to make changes in the filters of all the reports one by one.
For tasks, yes you are correct, we can't filter by groups, you need to check every agent. However, it is a very common issue as I also had to face. You can put it on Idea Lab so that, this feature can be included in upcoming versions.

This can be achieved with Profiles wherein in the main screen, you have option to uncheck/check Interfaces within the Navigation set box

Hi Keerthi,
If by 'Users' you mean Contacts and not Accounts, take a look at this post, Simon explains it nicely.

Hi Anuj,
The users in our context refers to those who are accessing Service Clooud ( Agents). We donot have portal as of now.
Thanks,
Keerthi
