    Mandatory or Required Field Condition

    We are wanting to make a certain custom field mandatory on the Add Activity, if the activity is of Customer type make it mandatory and be optional if it is an Internal activity.  I know there are visibility setting and conditions that can be done but is there a way to do the same making a field mandatory or not based upon conditions specified above?

      Hi Todd,

      Yes of course. All those things are manageable by Configuration / User Type / Screen configuration. You can put a field to (almost) any screen with M (means Mandatory) and RO and RW.

      For example I can put XA_CUSTOM_FIELD on the "Add activity" screen with visibility M when "aworktype in (equal) Customer" and with RW when "aworktype in (equal) Internal".

      Presently we can only do it via Visibility conditions.

      You can raise in Idea Lab if you are thinking it should be driven by something esle: Example: When we create the property under "Properties". Here we can specify this kind of condition.  But this can be a difficult one to implement by the Oracle team, as what it looks like from the current setup of the system the "Properties" create new lines in the database and there may not be columns to add this kind of visibility setup. But you can raise a request on Idea Lab as this will make the screens easier to maintain.
