Is there any way to restrict the data shown in visualization based on user in Oracle Analytical cloud.
    Content:

    Hi,

We have created a Visualization report in Oracle analytical cloud with three data sets.

We have a scenario to restrict the user to see their own data, data contains different regions/business units.

We are going with below approach.

--- Comparing user with application user and applying expression filter with user name. It will fetch data pertaining to that user.

--- In some scenarios its working fine and sometimes it's showing full data to user which he didn’t have access, Once we refresh the report then its filtering out the data as expected.

    Please suggest.

    Thanks,

    Sravan

If you are using Subject Areas coming from an RPD, then you can implement row-level security there using all the approaches and methodologies supported by the analytical engine.

If you are talking about uploaded data sets / data sets created through the GUI (Data Visualization), then the data set has to contain the exact user name so you can filter on it.

      Thanks for the reply.

We are getting data from SaaS system using data replication process.

From PaaS DB we using SQL queries to create data sets.

Attached here with high level approach we are following.

      Thanks,
