    Title:
Work Order Attachments - no Webservice
    Summary:
Customer wants to add attachment (file) to sales order line and attachment copies to back to back work order.
    Content:

Customer wants to add attachment (file) to sales order line and the attachment copies to the back-to-back work order. This scenario is used when the item being produced needs detailed specifications and drawings. We believe that it can't be done using standard functionality, so we thought we'd use an integration to export the attachment from the sales order line and then create an attachment on the work order. However, it seems there is no webservice to create work order attachments.

    Is there another alternative?

    HI Sam,

Copying Sales Order attachments (header as well as line) from back to back sales order to the corresponding work order is an out of the box functionality. Have you tried using this?

Here is the TOI link  (17C feature) : http://download.oracle.com/ocomdocs/global/fusion_r13/scm/Sales_Order_Attachments/index.html

    Readiness site: https://cloud.oracle.com/en_US/saas/readiness?offering=manufacturing&version=r13

    Regards

      Hi Sam,
Creating attachments for work orders using REST services is not currently supported and I am not aware of any alternatives. Please log an ER and attach your use case so we can track demand for this feature.
      Thanks,
      Karla

        Thanks Karla,

I did log an SR. This was my second hope - that someone had an idea on how I could get attachments from the sales order to the work order.

This is a pretty common requirement for Back-to-Back.

U can load the attachment into UCM with a webservice and put the url in the work order notes to access it from the WO.

Just a small correction, MFG does not copy the attachments, but provides a view of the same from the work order.

Thanks Alex. This is perfect. I have still raised an ER for the webservice for attachments, but it might not be as critical if we can see attachments on the sales order. Thanks again. Much appreciated.
