    Developer request for comment: Behavior update to banners

    We are working on a change that will affect the behavior, as described below, around Banners in Service Console and the Agent Browser User Interface. This will affect Banners on Incidents, Answers, Contacts, Opportunities, and Orgs.

    Current behavior: The time and current user (Banner Updated and Banner Updated By fields) are updated whenever the Banner Note is updated.

    New behavior: The time and current user (Banner Updated and Banner Updated By fields) are updated whenever the Banner Note field or Banner Flag are updated.

    In our opinion, this new behavior is more in line with what is described by our documentation here, which does not indicate that updates only occur upon changes to the Note field.

    Banner Updated:         Date and time the banner was last updated

    Banner Updated By:    Staff member who last updated the banner

    However, before this is implemented we would like to hear from the community if there is any reason that this change might cause problems for any use case.

      We checked with our teams that use this and they thought it already worked the way you plan to change it. So I guess they consider the fact that it doesn't, as a bug.
