    Title:
    Multiple actions in Approval rule
    Summary:
    Multiple actions in Approval rule
    Content:

    Hi,

If we configure more than one action for a particular rule, is there any specific sequence in which the actions are executed?

Is it safe to assume that the actions will be executed in the same sequence they have been defined?

    Please refer attached snapshot.

    regards,

    Niamath

      Hi Niamath,

Please provide a business use case that you are planning to address with this configuration to help set context.

      Thanks,

      Suman.

      Hi Niamath,

Most probably it will pick according the sequence in which you have defined as you have taken AND also in the action.

although it will be better to understand and give you solution if we can get some highlights about your use case.

      Thanks

In order to ensure sequence, you will need to create two different rules each with a different action.  The rules will need to have a priority (e.g. 1st rule with first action - High, 2nds rule with second action - Medium)

      Thank you,

      Kim

        Thanks Kim.

We have handled in a similar manner.

However, since this feature of multiple actions is available, I was curious to know what is oracle behavior in such a case and hence raised the question.

        Regards,
