Comment
We attempted to set up allocations about a year ago and ran into a bug that did not allow the allocation to complete if one of the accounts it was trying to allocate was at a zero balance for the month. It would end in a divide by zero error. Has this bug been addressed and corrected?

Hi,
We have a requirement to do allocations of the Budgets and Forecasting for our client in Cloud ERP
The below note mentions that this functionality is not possible in the current date. Need a confirmation on the same and know if there are any workarounds. The client does not want to use EPM Cloud.
How to Allocate Budgets in Fusion? (Doc ID 2204193.1)

We do not support Allocation of Budget/Forecast balances using CalcManager. One can do the calculations offline in Excel and upload the allocated amounts directly during the Budget upload process to the GL Balances Cubes.

Thank you Abhijit for the confirmation.
We were toying with the idea of using the Scenario as a criteria for allocating the Budgets/Forecasts, as the Budgets/Forecasts are loaded to ERP as a scenario.
We were not able put together how the budget allocations were going to make it to budgets as they cannot be posted as journal entries.

Subhash

You can Generate Allocations but with current implementation those will be processed as actual journal entries in the GL. The workaround I could think of is generate the allocations but do not post and export to excel the entries and later upload them as budgets.
Thanks,
Abhijit

#1 I did not get your question. You can still do step down use cases using scenario as 'Allocated' for the source.
#2 As stated you can have step down cases using the scenario member Allocated.
#3 I do not think there is any such API.
Thanks,
Abhijit

Hi Abhijit,
Thank you responding to my comments/questions. Please find below my questions with more clarity
1. If we wanted to generate allocations with step down approach where we use the allocated amount, how would we select 'Allocated Budget' amount where we can use either 'Budget' or 'Allocated' as the scenario? How can we use 'Allocated Budget' amount for step down allocation?
