    Title:
How to use Substitution Variable in Hyperion Report header?
    Summary:
Need to show dynamic forecast month (variable) in a report header (text object) in Hyperion Reporting Web Studio report
    Content:

    As of [&OEP_FcstMnth] <<Date("y")>>

The above variable &OEP_FcstMnth can't be recognized in report header text box. Are there a way to refer to a variable in report header text box?

    Thanks in advance

    Julia

    Hello Julia,

I don't recall an option to pull it in using a formula like the one you have.

Normally you would pull the value from the grid.

Are you calling the variable anywhere in the report (POV, Row, Colum)?

    Formula Examples:

Forecast month for the period dimension is in the POV <<MemberName("Grid1",  "Period")>>

Forecast month for the period dimension is in the Column A <<MemberName("Grid1", A, "Period")>>

    Hope this helps.

Thank you for your speedy response, Scott!

I've created a dummy (hidden) col in the grid which is simply used to pass over $OEP_FcstMnth variable to Text Object. It worked !  Thanks again :-)
