We would like to populate to multiple GLdistribution segments from the catagory code on a Purchase requistion (or purchase Order).
The example is that we have an object account and subsidiary we want to populate and not have the user enter both.
Advice given so far is that we can only derive one GL segment. Can anyone provode a possible alternative that will allow us to populate teh full GL coding as required. A possible option we have thought of is using a non-stock inventory item and using inventory accounting rules but we may need som advice on this as well.

Hi,
I assume you mean you want to default values for the different segments of the charge amount based on the category of the item being ordered?
If so you'll have to create mapping sets ( a mapping set is basically where you say 'if category = ***, then segment A should equal YYY') for each of the segments you need. And then either use these mapping sets as an overlay rule or add them as sources in the charge account. I can't provide a full explanation here. The best thing is to either read the White Paper for Transaction Account Builder or contact support with your issue.
Let me know if you have any further questions

Thanks, I'll have a look. We've been told that we can only set the natural account (oject segment) from the catagory so it would be great to see if we can also control other segments. We want to eliminate the need for users to access the distribution.

There is a seeded source/mapping set for updating Natural Account based on category.
However, you can also create your own mapping set and use it as a source for any segment that you want.
