    Title:
Funds Check fail on a requisition
    Content:

We have a project that expired 12/31/19 and the end-user is trying to use it on a requisition. The check funds is failing saying the budget date of 7/5/19 is not between the project dates of 8/1/16 and 6/30/19...why is it showing a June 19 end-date when the project page is 12/19?

      Hi Kim,

In procurement there are several project related fields that are entered. One of those is the Expenditure Item Date (that has to be within your project periods) and a separate field is Budget Date (which, when you have budgetary control on also has to be within your project dates). There is a setting in the system on how that is defaulting, but it sounds like the date is defaulting to your system date. On the requisition, your buyer will have to update the field "Budget Date" to be in the project period. Depending on how you have the budget periods broken down, this could affect your prior periods and Budget vs. Actual reporting for December.

What we do is have one large budget period for the duration of the award and then have our procurement group update the budget date to match the expenditure item date even in the cases that it is in prior years/periods.

      I hope that helps!
