    Title:
    Custom Reports
    Content:

    Hi Gurus,

How do we create a custom report in OFSC?

In one of our requirement, we have to show report of the technicians who have working during a particular shift and how much time they took to complete the activity.

Previous post and discussion I came across we can do custom reports using daily extract, can anyone explain what we can do with daily extract and how to generate report based on this functionality.

    Thank,

    Madhu

      Hi Madhu,

Use the daily extract functionality of the OFSC; make a local database and fill the previous day data into it; make any custom report for any period.
(The required components can be, a JAVA application to get XML files through Rest API; a local SQL server and a riporting tool).
Oracle's solution is a BI cloud which can use OFSC data and custom reports also possible > your CSM can tell more.

        Hi Zcolt,

Can you help me out in detailing this.

I have created a local DB within OFSC, and added the fields I need to create a custom report. And now in development side, in PaaS with the help of REST API daily extract I should get the rows and columns of the table and send it to a reporting tool or develop in a external application.

        Thanks in Advance,

        Madhu

          Hi Madhu,

Setup Daily Extract file structure within OFSC at Configuration / Outbound Integration Channels, for example into Activity Fields, the fields "aid", "appt_number", and so on. The system will make an XML file (contains only the previous day's data) {companyname}_appt.xml every day and you can get this file by API and fill into your local DB with your own tool.
Unfortunately (or fortunately) you need to know all fields in OFSC to make an usable DB, because there are relations between different extract identities (for example Activity Fields vs Activity Link Fields).

          Regards,
          Zsolt
