I have received some queries periodically from customers about what notifications are supported in Fusion Self Service Procurement. On Forum posts, I have seen questions as to whether specific types of notifications are available.

I thought you might find it useful to have all of that information collated in the form of a document. The attached documents provide:

    a) Details of the various notifications we support currently

    b) A sample format to illustrate the notification and its details

      Hi Ashok,

Is it possible to manually re-trigger a notification? For example, I've received multiple requests asking if I could re-send the notification for a PR Approval to the requester's manager (if the PR is currently in the manager's queue for approval). Is this something that only the system can generate? I've seen other Procurement systems where we could easily press a button anytime, which will resend a notification for approval.

      Thanks!

This is not currently feasible. We only support the reminder mechanism that is automated. Would you post this in the Ideas forum? We can review that from there and also assess if other customers have similar requirements through their ratings.

        Thanks

      Thanks for the document!

Do you know if you can disable these notifications  by notification type? Eg. We want to keep the "Requisition Approved FYI Notification" notification but disable the "Approval Viewer FYI Notification".

In our case Requester = Preparer. Now the requester/preparer gets too many FYI notificatios. We don't want to disable them all, but some are totally irrelevant (in our case).

      Thanks in advance!

FYI notifications are generated automatically based on the original notification. I will check once more but what you are asking for is not currently supported. I will revert shortly.

On one specific type of FYI notification, the FYI notification that is sent as soon as the approval notification is generated, I got a suggestion internally to do this:

You could disable the rule in the Requester FYI participant or the participant itself.

The FYI notification that gets sent on completion of approvals can be disabled as discussed internally by disabling the participant in the ReqStatusFYI task.

Let me know if the above is something you have tried and if you are able to get to what you are trying to achieve.

Thanks Ashok! We have not tried this yet, I was told you cannot  disable the messages and that's all.

I will discuss this option with our oracle support!

      Hi Ashok,

Are you able to provide what options there are for Approval Request Notification, in terms of sending follow-up notifications?

For example, if someone submitted a PR for approval last Friday, and yesterday was a Holiday, how many notifications will be sent to the current approver? Is there a way to escalate after a number of notification reminders are sent for approval and the current approver does not take any action?

      Thanks!

These are typically set up in the BPM Infrastructure. I am providing a link below to a document I found. I am not certain if this is the latest version. But you could take a look  within

      https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E25178_01/doc.1111/e15176/bp_hwfconf_shared.htm#BABDHABB

I find topics are included on how to escalate and how to send reminders etc.

I think you should be able to find your answers there.

I am also fairly certain other customers can chip in here with how they have handled these too.

    • Ashok

I found one hit for not sending notifications on Saturday / Sundays for escalations. Reminders, I am not entirely sure.

      Hi All,

I had received a PR notification with Subject:Completed Approve Requistion. Kindly let me know when will this notification get triggered.

      Thanks,

This notification is sent to Preparer (and others configured by customers in their approval policies) when the approval process is completed.  It will be modeled as a separate task, (Requisition Approved FYI)

        Hi Ashok,

Thanks for the update,we are receiving Requisition Approved FYI notification after the PR is approved. But only for a particular PR user received a email with subject Completed Approve Requisition, because we are not receiving this notification for other PR's

        Thanks,

        Mahendran
