    Title:
Billing from One Project Task to Multiple Contracts
    Content:

We have a requirement that one Project Task may requre to bill too multiple contracts to different customers.

All of the billing is amount based and is not related to costs at all, we will generate seperate Amount Based Billing events for each contract.

Is this Possible?  the training and other materials suggest that it is but when we try and setup we get an error message on creation of the second contract.

    Scenerio

    Project 1 > Task 1

    Contract 1 > Line 1 > Customer 1 linked to Project 1 > Task 1

    Contract 2 > Line 1 > Customer 2 linked to Project 1 > Task 1

    Error is

You cannot asscociate this project and task to tis contract line (PJB-2190372)

It is possible to do what you are describing.  The error message you are seeing comes from attempting something like:

      Contract 1 > Line 1 > Customer 1 linked to Project 1 > Task 1

      Contract 2 > Line 1 > Customer 2 linked to Project 1 > Task 1.1

      The error message details are:

A project and task in the same branch but at another level of the task hierarchy is already associated with a contract line. You must select a project and task from a different branch, or from the same level of the same branch of the task hierarchy.

So, you should be able to link Project 1 Task 2, which is from a different branch, or Task 1, which is from the same level of the same branch of the task hierarchy.  You should be able to confirm the contracts associated to the project from the Contracts region on the Financials tab of the Project Overview page.

Thanks we will retest again and maybe log an SR if required, we had seen this error on MOS but we dont have the lower level subtaks setup our structure is pretty flat ie Task 1 > Task 2 etc.

Wanted to be sure we could do this as all the docnumentation suggested it and we have built a lot of out potential solution around the fact we could.

The same error message would be displayed if you attempted to associated Contract 1 Line 1 to Project 1 Task 1 and then Contract 2 Line 1 to Project 1 with no task.
