    Title:
Accessibility Interface Deprecation - use Browser User Interface instead!
    Content:

In case you haven’t heard, the deprecation of Oracle Service Cloud Accessibility Interface was announced on October 16, 2016 and will be removed in the February 2017 release of Oracle Service Cloud. The official info is in the Deprecation Announcement on the support site (log-in required).

The good news is that we are replacing it with the Browser User Interface, which meets accessibility requirements and is a much improved user experience!

For sites using Oracle Service Cloud November 2016 and later, the Browser User Interface provides a user interface accessible to blind and limited-sight staff members through keystroke functionality, screen magnification, and the ability to be read aloud by screen-reading software.  The Browser User Interface uses the latest technologies to facilitate better conformance to current accessibility standards and guidelines.

Q: How can I get Browser User Interface on my site?

A: Requesting the Browser UI for Oracle Service Cloud sites

Q: Where can I find more information about the Browser User Interface?

    A: Try these:

We are very proud of the Browser User Interface and hope you check it out soon, if you haven't already.

    Thanks!

      Thanks Sarah!!

Fantastic to see the new Browser UI becoming a larger part of the product!! Can't wait to start hearing more about our customer's experiences.

The Accessibility Interface is completely unusable, so any improvement at all would be welcome.

Charlie - I think you will be much happier with the new Browser UI for accessability than the old interface.  We welcome any feedback if you start using the Browser UI for accessibility.

      Thanks!!

Finding http://documentation.custhelp.com/euf/assets/docs/buiadmin/index_frames.html first, it would be helpful to have a reference for requesting BUI if you don't see the settings listed in the document.  Sure it has "The Agent Browser UI feature for your site must be enabled and configured. Contact your Oracle account manager"...

      Hi Jonathon,

Thanks for the feedback.  Eventually we hope to make it so that customers can enable Browser UI themselves instead of having to request the enablement but for the time being we do have the link on how to request posted up above in this community post:

I think as we make this process easier in the future, we definitely should update the documentation that you reference.  Thanks for your comment!
