    Title:
Insertion rules not executing without reloading data
    Content:

We have insertion rules (in 10) to populate the movement member from closing balance input. Made a change to those rules (changed the destination movement members). Validated and deployed the rule and reconsolidated. Didn't see the change taking effect, so tried a force consolidate and still didn't see a change. Only when we reloaded the data - the exact same data - did we see the change take effect.

Seeing no errors in the Jobs log. The EnableOptimalBlockCreation variable is set to True.

Anyone having this issue, or better yet solved it? Not liking the thought of reloading every scenario/year/period after every rule change.

    Thanks,
    Eric

      Hi Eric,

Adding @Crearblock for the target movement member, may help.

      Thanks,

      Dipen

Hi Dipen. I added a @CREATEBLOCK line for the target movement member as suggested - no effect.

I have faced this issue before and have seen that putting @Creatblock within a block statement fixing the issue. Have you noticed if you supply 0 manually for an intersection fixing the issue?

Last resort, would suggest you to go for an ODR.

      Hi Eric,

I had same issue in FCCS. Here, Block is not getting created. In FCCS SET CREATENONMISSINGBLK is restricted. And @Creatblock will not work here. But Can you try to write a member formula to achieve this?

      Regards,

      SM

Hi. Formulas are cross dimension so can't be done in member formulas.

Can you please give the requirement logic So ,I will try my best to find possible ways to achieve this.

Please go through video which shows how to create missing blocks.

      Hi Eric,

you are right. I have the same problem and for this I created a post in Forum (Impact Status in FCCS)

The problem is due to missing in FCCS of Impact Status.

In this case, you have (in anyway) to change status of the scenario for the related entities.

I created a simple smart view that I use to change data (you can input 0.0001 for an account).

After submitting data and reconsolidation you will see the effects of your rules.

Isn't the ForceConsolidate rule supposed to address this?

        • Dipen Shah

In FCCS (unfortunately), Consolidation and Force Consolidation does the same thing. I never use Consolidation and always use Force Consolidation instead.

          • Antonio Barbaro

            Yes,

I confirm. You can use Force Consolidation when the consolidation process is blocked but are the same thing.

            Thanks,

            Antonio

      Hi,

you don't solve the problem with the Force consolidate and Consolidate ALL.

The problem is the Impact status.

You have to force the change status of the entities….
