    Title:
Anomaly in Manage Approvals Workflow result (Edit requisition page, before Submitting).
    Content:

    Hi,

I just came across an anomaly while creating Requisition Approvals (Edit requisition page, before Submitting).

I was creating the Approvals under Pre-Approval > Serial and was Routed with Job Level approach.

When i used the Manage Approvals option (Edit requisition page, before Submitting), the workflow was showing fewer rules getting triggered than the actual number of rules which would have been triggered. But after submitting the Requisition, the Approval workflow would show as expected, all the rules which were suppose to be triggered were shown.

I actually ended up wasting a lot of time depending on this option showing wrong flow even though it was right.

So my question is the Manage Approvals option (Edit requisition page, before Submitting) reliable ?

    Regards,

    Harshith E S

Before we conclude or go toward a thought process of whether it is reliable, can you clarify something? Are you finding that the Manage Approvals prior to Submit shows you Pre-approval Rules A, B and C whereas your total set of Pre-approval Rules includes A, B, C, D, E and F? In other words, what you first see is a subset of the same paradigm: Pre-approval > Serial.

Also can you provide us screenshots of the rules that did show up prior to submit and screenshots of rules that you expected to see on that page but believe you did not?

        Hi Ashok,

        My responses are below,

In other words, what you first see is a subset of the same paradigm: Pre-approval > Serial  -  YES

Attached screenshot is the rule and same rule with 5 different increasing values (5k, 10k, 25k, 100k, 1m) are used, (I know we are suppose to range it). But if the value is above 1m, all the rules are suppose to trigger and this is expected. But in the Manage Approvals option within the editing page was only triggering 1m rule.

        Thanks,

        Regards,

My colleague or I will review and revert.

      Harshith,

As Ashok, mentioned could you also provide the screenshots of the approvral list that you see by clicking on Manage Approvals button (prior to submitting the requisition) and then the approver list generated after Submitting the requisition? Also provide screen shot of all the rules that you expect to fire for the requisition.

      Thanks and Regards
      Sumana

        Hi Sumana,

Apologies for the delayed response, I have replicated the issue and taken the screenshots. (Refer the Document section in the top)

Please let me know your findings and observations.

        Regards,

        Hi Sumana/Ashok,

Were you guys able to look into this issue ? If yes, could you share your observations.

        Thank you,

        Regards,

          Hi Harshith,

I reviewed the document you attached. Looking at the Action Detail generated after Submit, the only difference that i see is that a set of approvers are repeating themselves especially Clint, Jonathan, Jeff Richard.

How many lines do the requisition contain. Who are the requesters on each of the lines?  Is it possible to upload a screen shot of the Requisiiton details (Req# 248)?
Also from bpm worklist, could you check the value of the parameter - task aggregation ?

          Thanks and Regards

          Sumana

            Hi Sumana,

The difference what you have observed is what i was talking about, I don't think the requester / requisition details would yield a different result (The issue was replicated with single line requisition and requester was one among the job level approver).

So my main question was why is there a difference in first place. Is this an anomaly or an expected behaviour ?

      Hi Harshith

Sorry about the delay. I will have this reviewed and revert hopefully tomorrow.
