    Title:
    Project level budgetary control
    Summary:
We want users to receive warning or stop creating a PO against a project if the total dollars spent to date exceeds project budget.

Do we need to explicitly create budgets? Will setting Control Budget Filter (shown below) and enabling Budgetary Control for Project Accounting business function enable picking up of budget tied to a project?

Appreciate any input you may have on how this works.

Please review the implementation guide for budgetary control and encumbrance accounting included in this MOS note:  2131138.1

I reviewed the document. One follow up question. It seems we have to create multiple control budgets for each project we want to have budget control. Is that correct?

          Hi Sachin,

My company has a similar set-up. We create multiple control budgets b/c the need was to control spending by vendor and by a project. The only issue was the company started using this for every single expenditure and ended up creating thousands of control budgets which over time I think has slowed the system up. I'd just be careful about creating too many. We are currently looking for a different way to control spending that will still allow some control by vendor as well.

Projects is integrated with budgetary control.  Please refer to documentation for setup procedure:  http://docs.oracle.com/cloud/latest/projectcs_gs/OAPJF/OAPJF1121937.htm#OAPJF16727
