    Edit AR invoice Special Instructions
    Summary:
    "Special Instructions" box at the bottom of invoice - how is it edited?

    Our AR Invoices show a box at the bottom, below the "Send Payment To" remittance instructions, called "Special Instructions."

    How is this edited?
    Can it be edited specifically for one customer?  If so, can it be added more or less permanently, and not have to be re-added with each invoice?

        Thank you for your post.

        I found the attached options for Manage Transaction, and looked at "Manage Transaction Types" and "Manage Transaction Sources" because these are related to Customer Billing, but could not find reference to "Special Instructions" which might be edited.

        Am I looking in the right place?

      Go to Receivables -->Billing -->  Click on Task --> Manage Transactions

      Beth,

      I'm not 100% on out of the box functionality as we have customized the RTF template for our own billing format.  That said for our environment the users have the ability to add a value in the Special Instructions field in a free from text box in the UI while creating the transaction.  This is printed on the PDF invoice that gets emailed to our customers.  Navigation: Receivables > Billing > Create Transaction > Show More (top left) > Miscellaneous Tab (mid page) > See: Special Instructions Field. 

      If you are looking to hard code the same value on every invoice, that sounds like you would to customize the RTF template.  Here is another post that could help: https://cloudcustomerconnect.oracle.com/posts/17de47c2a3?commentId=71937#71937

        We are not looking to do this on every invoice, but it looks like your instructions for one invoice might work. . . we're trying it out, it might depend upon the max space/characters available.

          Beth, We have 240 characters for Special Instructions so if you need more than that then can go ahead to enable the DFF's 

          SPECIAL_INSTRUCTIONS VARCHAR2 240     Special instructions that can print on invoice.

            I discovered the limit of characters, but managed to make my message fit.

            I'll note the DFF's in case we need more in the future.

      I'm happy to help and I hope that works out for you.  One more thing, if you do run into character limitation issues another option would be to configure Descriptive Flex Fields (DFFs) on the invoice and update the RTF template to include those fields.  I could share more on the DFF setup if you need it.  Thanks!
