    Title:
    Prevent Order header close
    Summary:
    Prevent Order header close
    Content:

    Business use case:

As and when a line gets shipped in Oracle EBS, We import these orders to fusion. We apply hold both at order header and line in Fusion during import.

Users will review each order line in Fusion, release the hold and invoice the line. Once all lines are closed, the header is also closed even though it has active hold on the order header after we run the update close order scheduled process. This seems to be fusion functionality to close header if all lines are closed even though header has an active hold.

Issue we are facing now is that, we still have lines in EBS that are waiting to be shipped which we need to bring into Fusion. But since the order header in Fusion is closed, we will not be able to.

Has anyone encountered such business use case, and if you were able to prevent the order header closure in Fusion, please let me know.

    Thanks in Advance,

    DA.

      Hi DA,

This is still an issue in Cloud. when you run the ESS it will check all the Lines and if Lines are in Cancelled or Close status it will close the header too. this is seeded functionality.
the best way to do not run the ESS.

You can run the ESS just to close the lines by specifying the entity name as LINE along with time interval. It should close only the lines and not the header in that case. Please note the fulfillment lines are always closed upon the last step automatically and the ESS has nothing to do with closing of the fulfillment lines itself. The ESS closes & rolls up some of the attributes from the doo_fulfill_lines_all to doo_lines_all entity when the entity is provided as LINE.

There is an ER already tracked to improve the usability aspect of the ESS parameters.
