Writing the SLAs using Maintenance Organization, Work Areas and Work Center

We are trying to build the maintenance organization struSourcecture where the accounting of work order cost needs to be done on the basis of work areas. As a part of our chart of account, each work area has an account associated with it and therefore we have a segment in our COA.

Earlier, we have recommended creating each of those locations where maintenance activities are getting done as a separate maintenance organization, however, because of this we ended up with the huge number of maintenance organization, therefore, we have changed the design and now we are considering the maintenance organization as work areas under one maintenance organization.

When I checked into SLA setup, I have only found that "Work Center" is available as "Source" but not the maintenance organization or work areas.

As per our design, if we have the capability to write the SLA rule on the basis on Work Areas than it will become easier for us to recommend a feasible and easy maintenance organization structure and will be able to reduce the number of maintenance organization as well.

Please confirm, when we can expect the functionality in Oracle Maintenance Cloud or Oracle Cost Accounting.

      Hi Ekansh,

In an upcoming release, we are adding several new sources that would help customers using maintenance to drive their accounting based on data captured as part of the asset, work orders etc. Some of these sources that are being added include

      • DFFs attached to a work order
      • Item Class
      • Operation Organization
      • Maintenance Organization
      • Asset Tag
      • Location Type
      • Asset Customer
      • Asset Work Center
