    Title:
Unable to Personalize PO Distribution Charge Account in Change Order
    Summary:
When a PO is under amendment, Unable to Personalize(Make Editable) PO Charge Account under Distribution.
    Content:

Hello, I want to make the PO distribution charge account field editable but currently, that functionality is not possible through sandbox. When the PO is amended (change order) the charge account is displayed as view-only, which previously in 18C version was possible to make editable.

One of the possible reason I got to know why it is not editable is due to budgetary control enabled, but again I am not sure how exactly it is linked with this! Anyone aware can please share the inputs.

I have also referred a KM note as below, but again it is confusion.

Unable to Change PO Charge Account after PO is Approved (Doc ID 2064534.1)

    Looking forward to the solution.

    Thanks

    Hi Ruchi,

In general, customers are not expected to use Page Composer the enable editing of fields that are read only out-of-box, as this make break data integrity. In particular, editing of PO charge account on implemented POs when budgetary control is enabled is not allowed in Update 19C as funds have been reserved under that account. Lifting this restriction in this particular scenario is on the 6-12 month roadmap.

The WA is to split the distribution, set the quantity/amount on the original distribution to zero and enter the quantity/amount and account on the new distribution.

      Hi Ivan,

Thanks for the update. We will be waiting to get this restriction lifted in the coming months.

Notably, when we tried to do the same functionality back in February this year, 19A probably, it was working well. I have an SR logged for this (SR 3-20143506091 : Unable to Personalise Distribution PO Charge Account in Change Order) where I was able to check with the engineer assigned that this functionality was working. Going down to 19C this has been revoked? Also, there are plans to lift the restriction in future updates. Was the functionality restricted purposefully in the updates between?

      Regards,

      Rushi

      Hi Ruchi,they

I think there was a bug that was allowing account updates in cases in which they should not, and that bug was fixed.

Ivan, that is well justified. Thanks.
