    Title:
Report for Warnings generated due to Validation Rules
    Summary:
Report for Warnings generated due to Validation Rules
    Content:

    Hi,

Please let me know if there is any standard report which can be used for capturing the warning messages generated due to Validation rules.

These warning messages will be defined based on the severity and action defined at the time of the creation of validation rule:

    Warning

The explanation message is displayed to the user, but the entity can still be saved

    Use Case:

Our client wants a report which can provide the information of all the items and attributes which have been validated but allowed by the system for an update. They wanted to track the changes which have been accepted by the system after issuing a warning message to the user.

Also, if we don't have any standard report available then is there any way to create the custom report?

    Thanks

    Ekansh

Ekansh, You can use Rules Impact Analysis for this use case.

        Hi Magesh,

I think rule impact analysis will provide me the impact of the rule which I am creating on the existing items.

But what if someone has done some change or created any new item then how we will ensure based on warning messages?

        Thanks

        Ekansh

I don’t think I understand your latest update.

From your earlier description “Our client wants a report which can provide the information of all the items and attributes which have been validated but allowed by the system for an update.”, I understand that you are looking for warning rules run on existing items. If so, Impact anlaysis can be used.

Please clarify your latest update, preferably with a series of steps of the usecase

            Hi Magesh,

            No.

I am looking to capture the warning message into the report for the newly created item or if someone in updating the existing item.

            Thanks

            Ekansh

Ekansh, You still can do it using impact analysis. You can schedule running of impact analysis at a given frequency. You can create the analysis in such a way that it captures the warnings from the newly created items, say created in the last 2 days. I cannot think of any other means.
