    Title:
Error : Exceeded Configured Maximum number of allowed input records
    Summary:
Pivot Table View and Narrative View giving error at runtime
    Content:

    Hi All,

We are facing error as "Exceeded Configured Maximum number of allowed input records" during runtime for particular prompts.

The rowcount of the records is around 50K and around 15-20 columns.

When we show the output in Table View it renders correctly but when the same is shown using Pivot Table View and Narrative View are showing up this error.

We had raised SR for this issue but the support was not able to provide us with configured limits of each view or any resolution for the same.

Can someone help us to resolve this, if you have faced this error before?

    Regards,

    Kiran Shenvi

      dear Kiran,

If you are a SaaS / Cloud customer, then the configuration is standard all across the data centers,

so any change on instanceconfig.xml approved for a single customer may have to pass performance and management approval for all the customers, you will need a very strong business justification to received this.

If you are encountering this error message is due to the fact that the current configuration is set to a lower limit as compared to what you are receiving as result from your query.

My recommendation is that you add additional filters (on departments or on business units or on ledgers or on time periods etc .) in order to reduce the number of rows returned until you don't receive this message any more.

If you are using an on-premise installation then change the values for pivot table view in the instanceconfig.xml configuration file as per your reporting needs but taking into consideration also the impact on performance that this may have.

      Thank you and regards,

      Tudor

        Hi Raghu,

Thanks a ton.. this is something we are looking for !

This document is really nice... did you get this from Support?

I see that the last column mentioned is OTBI and we are using OBI reports.

Some values confirmed by Support in SR were as below :

        Table View : 65000

        Sections : 1000

        Pivot Table : 2 million

        Regards,
