    Difference between workzone and location
    Content:

    Hi Gurus,

What is difference between adding a workzone and a location to a technician?

    Thanks,

Yes along these lines, location is an address for an engineer and this can be a different address for start of shift and end of shift if required. This information is used to calculate travel to the activity locations.

work zones define an area you permit a resource to be allocated work. This can be achieved using various attributes such as Post Code Sector / Zip. Or perhaps a custom property which defines a location which is unique. In our example we use internal SITE codes to define a specific set of Operational sites that we want our resources to work at.

Hope that helps answer your question.

My understanding is Location is where the resource is based, I.E Home location, and Work Zone is a definition of where the engineer is permitted to work. (Postcodes/Regions etc)
