    Title:
    Deactivate Route
    Content:

    Hi Gurus,

Can field technician deactivate the route due to his personal emergency?

    Use Case:

Field Technician wants to take day off due to his personal reason. For avoiding further activity assignment, he wants to make him as unavailable. Like Activate Route.

    Thanks,

    Mohan

    Hi Mohan,

Just when he isn't have any pending activities. If he has, then first need to call a dispatcher to assign his jobs to someone else, then he can deactivate his route.

    Regards,
    Zsolt

      Thanks Zsolt,

So if Technician wants to activate again, he has to call back Dispatcher again?

      Thanks,

      Mohan

Do they have to close the internal activities as well like 'Lunch Break'?

I've wrote the answers by using "Reply to this Comment by Email" so it's doesn't appear here...

      1) Yes.

      2) Yes or delete them if he has that right.

      Hi Mohana,

There is also the option to enable 'Reactivate Route' in mobility. This allows the technician to Reactivate their route once they have already deactivated. This might be an option as well.

      Hi All,

For the same problem. Is there an API to re-activate the route once Technician has de activated the route. In our case our customer is not using OFSC mobility, and there is a scenario where after da activating route from their custom mobile app they want to re activate the route ?

Or can the same activate route API be used to activate the route. I tried but its not happening

      Please help.

      Regards,

      Vivek,

API call to activate the route can be used to re-activate the route. Upon successful re-activation, if you perform get resource route call you can see a new attribute "routeReactivationTime" which shows the new route activation time. you will also see "routeStartTime" attribute too.

      Thanks

      Ravi

      Hello OFSC Gurus,

I am using the same thread fro this "Deactivate Route", my question is there a way to schedule the "deactivate route" for a certain time? Regardless the activity still not completed? By default OFSC will automatically deactivate all routes at midnight.

I have tried to trigger the REST API call deactivate route and it will not work if there is any incomplete activity. Response will respond with 409 status explaining Route has an incomplete activity.

My client requirement states to automatically deactivate all routes when they are still open past "6:30" pm. Can we do this?

      Thanks Gurus!

      Hi Jeffry,

I propose to look for pending activities on the resource route, move them back to the bucket, then inactivate his/her route. I don't believe it's a good solution, while after that you will have pending activities which will sticking on the current (past) day and lost forever.

Yeah I think so, the bucket will be full with the Pending activities transfer back from the Tech. Reason being to this requirements, my client facing situation where on the last of the day normally allocated to Ïnternal"activities for Tech to do some admin job. BAU process stated that Tech needs to de-activate the route before they sign off, in the ideal world that supposed to be working but in reality most of the Tech forget to deactivate so this is impacting their Stats. I am aware that we can disregard some Travel data in Statistical Parameters but was wondering if there is a way to schedule the de-activate routes across the board at certain time beside midnight?

      Cheers,

      Jeff

When a technician forgets to activate and the dispatcher is forced to deactivate their route so pending work can be redistributed, is there a way to leave the lunch and other internal activities on their route?  This allows reactivation without having to manually add those activities back to their route.
