    Hi All,

When I am submitting incident from 'ask.php' page, every thing works as expected in chrome and mozilla, but it throws error in Internet Explorer.

What can be the possible cause for the issue?

    Hi All,

It has been figured out what was the issue.

SmartAssistant widget was called on ask.php page but no rules were written for 'SmartAssistant', so, it was throwing error on submission of form.

Thank you all for your expert advise!!!

    Kind Regards,

    Dev

Could you please share the error?

    • Dev Aditya

      Hi Gursimran,

The exact English translation is as given below:

There was a problem with the request. The action can not be completed.

Could you please open that page in Development mode in IE?
When you do so, it should show actual error instead of 'There was a problem with the request'.

Also, do check Javascript Console for errors.

Hey Dev, sorry but its still a little vague.

At this point if I were in your shoes, I would try again in IE using the Reference Implementation.  If things work in one browser and not another and then both work fin e via the reference Imp, I would probably blame customisation.

Developer tool is not showing any error. Please check the screen shot attached.

      Hi Richard,

In reference Implementation mode also, I am getting this the same error!  :(

Dev - Can you run Fiddler Cap and see any 500s in HTTP Status code column in fiddler logs....

      This may help.

      Hi Suresh,

Are you talking about the status marked with 'cross' in the screenshot?

    • Suresh Thirukoti

Yeahhhh.....r8. smiley....but before that, can you check if your session is expired as per Guru's post....if its valid and active, then you can troubleshoot for this ajax error

      Ya Suresh,

I checked that also, every interface has default value only. i.e. 30 mins. However, if it would have been the case, it would have been throwing error for all the browsers. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Maybe your IE has some settings which is not allowing the session to persist. Something like that.

Maybe try restoring IE Settings to default. Or try on another machine's IE.

Yes Gursimran, that was the first thing which I did, i.e. restored IE. I am using IE 11.0

And this issue was first noticed by my client and he reported it to me. So, we have two systems checked for the issue. I will check in few more systems.

If anything strikes in your mind for this, please leave your comment here. Meanwhile, I am checking other scenarios and will update if this isse gets resolved.

Thanks all for you time here. Really appreciated!!!

If I remember right, Oracle disabled support for IE 11 and below. Isn't it?

      Hi Pramod,

Could you please provide any link for documentation mentioning that IE 11.0 is not supported for Customer Portal?

      Thanks,

      Dev
