Issue with State code in Supplier Master
    Summary:
Issue with State code in Supplier Master
    Content:

    Hi,

When we converted vendor master data, we converted states with incorrect values. For example, state code filed of address structure has "TX" as well as "TEXAS". We are trying to cleanup the address values. The way we want to do that is by updating all addresses to use TX and then delete the value "TEXAS" from Manage Geographies structure. Have anyone faced this issue? Also, will there be any impact of this in any other areas?

    Thanks, Bala.

In the Manage Geography Hierarchy page you can edit details such as the geography's primary and alternate names and codes, etc.  In this case, you will be deleting the alternate name for the state geography after updating supplier addresses with the preferred value. This looks like a reasonable approach to address the issue that you are facing.

Please note that though deletion is an option on the Manage Geography Hierarchy page, you may want to use it with caution as any address created/used in the system that has state as TEXAS could become invalid.  It would probably be better to switch to use TX as primary and keep the other as alternate.
