    Title:
    Archive function in Oracle
    Summary:
    Archive function in Oracle
    Content:

do you know how the archive function in Oracle works?  Our custom reports folder disappeared recently, and Oracle recommends that we use the archive function going forward.  Oracle sent us their data backup docs, but I don’t understand how/whether these even apply to the archive function.

    Hi Kamal,

See the screenshot to archive reports. Just select the report you want to archive and save it on your local drives or unarchive it in a different environment. You may want to check what reports disappeared. Also, check to ensure reports are not hidden.

      Hi Yasmin,

When archiving a particular folder or file, there will be two checkboxes/options - "Keep Permissions" and "Keep Timedstamps". Based on your need you should check these.

The archived file will have extension as ( .catalog)

And when uploading/unarchiving these already downloaded catalog files, you can choose to retain your permissions in new environment or same enviornment.
