    Title:
Are all 2.X instance X7 second Generation ?
    Content:

On this Documentation page for Windows servers it states

"Windows: Both VM and bare metal instances, but only on X7/second-generation shapes (shapes with "2" in the name, such as VM Standard 2.16 and BM.Standard2.52). For bare metal, secondary VNICs are supported only on the second physical NIC. Remember that the first physical NIC is NIC 0, and the second is NIC 1. Also see Windows: Configuring the OS for SecondaryVNICs.

    "

Its not clear from this if all Shapes with 2 in the name are X7 or only Windows images with 2 in the name.

can anyone confirm if all 2.x images are actually X7 based regardless of Operating system ?

    Hello,

All the .2 shapes are X7 indeed - both Linux and Windows.

      You're welcome!

You can see and confirm what CPUs are there running sudo lscpu on your linux instance, by the way.

But don't double post next time ;)

Actually this seems to be a bug in the new customer connect  .No matter which forum I am browsing at the time whenever I click post new topic it creates it in the Exadata forum. Is there some way to control this ?

That is why I had to create this post as a new tip rather than a new topic. ( see it is tagged as a tip ) I wasn't sure I would get an answer in the Exadata Forum and I couldn't find any way of changing the forum after posting a topic.

This is weird! Did you try to delete the cookies in your browser? I don't think I've seen anybody yet having the same problem.

I tried it today from another browser after deleting all cookies and still whenever I click new topic it opens the exadata forum. Is there any way to give feedback on bugs in the forum. Support seems to just open MOS ...
